1. Candidate’s application for admission to the Program

4a. Annual Progress Report
The Advisory Committee meets at least once a year to approve the brief annual progress report submitted by the PhD candidate to the Secretariat. Form D4a
5. Progress Seminar Presentation (2 yrs after registration) – no longer required
6. Appointment of the PhD Thesis Exam Committee
At least three (3) years after appointment, the Advisory Committee may decide whether the PhD student has successfully completed the PhD thesis. The Committee may also decide that the topic of the PhD thesis needs to be slightly re-specified. The Committee can also suggest the appointment of the PhD Thesis Exam Committee. Form D6

Graduation Procedure

1.Application to the secretary office
Application submission to the secretary office via https://eservice.upatras.gr/
2. Documents to be submitted for Doctoral Thesis

The following documents must be submitted to the Department’s secretary office:

  • One (1) copy of the approved doctoral thesis, in leather-bound cover, burgundy red.
  • Two (2) copies of the approved Doctoral Thesis in soft cover.
  • Three (3) copies of a 15-page standalone synopsis of the Doctoral Thesis (in support of the D.T.).
  • Two (2) copies of the Doctoral Thesis in electronic format (in CD, preferably in PDF).
  • One (1) electronic copy (in CD) of the standalone 15-page synopsis in Word format (for the Administrator of the Committee of Graduate studies).
3. Submission of the Doctoral Thesis to the Library and the Information Services Department.

Submission of the Doctoral Thesis in hardcopy (but not leather-covered) with full details (title, name, name of supervisor and evaluation committee, etc.) and in electronic format, through the institutional repository Nemertes (http://nemertes.lis.upatras.gr). Access to Nemertes is granted with credentials provided by the University Network Services (or by personal identification). After submission of the Doctoral Thesis to the Library and Information Center, you will be provided with a receipt of successful submission, which must be sent to the department’s Secretariat office.

4. Additional tasks
  • Hand in to the Department Secretary Office your student academic identification card or in case of loss, submit a loss declaration form.
  • Hand in the Healthcare booklet (in case you have received one).
  • Return any books you have borrowed from the main or departmental library.
  • Settle any pending issues with the Student services unit.
  • Hand in the entrance card to access the building other premises of the department.
5. Terms of writing and publishing
Solemn Declaration (Υπεύθυνη Δήλωση): Affirmation regarding the terms of writing (plagiarism) and publishing of the Doctoral Thesis. 
6. Printing the Doctoral Thesis
The doctoral thesis may be printed at the University of Patras Printing Center. Please complete the relevant form and submit it to the Printing Center. Application form to print doctoral thesis
The submission of the documents can be completed by the person responsible or by a legally authorized representative Authorization document
