We would like to inform you that on Monday, December 9, the kick-off meeting of the international program involving academic institutions and industry, with the acronym “2D Enhanced,” took place. The program is coordinated by the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras, with Professor Emeritus Costas Galiotis serving as the Scientific Coordinator.
The programme aims to use two-dimensional materials (graphene and its derivatives) as additives to other conventional materials, in combination with innovative production processes such as 3D printing, to develop prototypes and products with a broad impact on both the market and the research community.
The total funding for the program amounts to $6,200,000, of which $3,900,000 is contributed by Khalifa University (UAE). Other collaborating entities in the programme include the National University of Singapore, led by Professor Konstantin Novoselov (Nobel Prize in Physics, 2010), Khalifa University (UAE), the EMPA Research Institute (Switzerland), and the companies Borouge (UAE), BG TEC (Poland), and Adrine (Greece).
From the University of Patras, additional collaborators include Associate Professors from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Konstantinos Dassios and Georgios Karanikolos.
