An official memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Patras and the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and the Institute of Energy at the University of Delaware, USA. The memorandum was signed by the Vice Rector for Strategic Internationalization and External Relations, Professor Dionysios Mantzavinos, the Head of the Department, Professor Alexandros Katsaounis, the Head of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Professor Millicent Sullivan, and the Director of the Institute of Energy, Professor Dionysios Vlachos.
As part of the collaboration between the two institutions, a proposal has been submitted for funding, amounting to 1.3 million euros, for the creation of a joint master's program titled "Sustainable Energy Technologies." The proposal has been submitted under the framework of Project SUB2: "Universities of Excellence."
The Department extends its special thanks to the administration of the University of Patras for facilitating bureaucratic matters, as well as to Professors G. Karanikolos, V. Mavrantzas, and Ms. Ch. Leontiou from the Project Management Department - Project Design Unit of the University of Patras Research Committee (ELKE), who have worked on preparing the aforementioned proposal.
