Theocharis was awarded as the best project in the field of Engineering, to the publication “Curvature dependent surface energy for a free standing monolayer graphene: Some closed from solutions of the non-linear theory” (D. Sfyris, G. I. Sfyris and C. Galiotis, International Journal of Non-Linear Mechanics, 67 (2014), 186-197), funded by Pericles S. Theocharis Institution.
The award as well as the prize money of 2,000 euros had been received by Mr. Dimitris Sfyris who was a postdoctoral researcher at the GSRT Excellence-ERC program (ERC-10) which was the mean to carry out this project..
