Stelios Varchanis - Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT, USA

Congratulations to our department’s alumnus and PhD graduate, Stelios Varchanis, on his election to the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT, USA.

Stelios completed his doctoral studies (Dynamic analysis of elastic instabilities in flows of complex fluids) at the Laboratory of Fluid Mechanics and Rheology of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Patras, during which he published 15 papers in international scientific journals. He subsequently pursued postdoctoral research at OIST (Japan) and Flatiron Institute (USA), prior to his appointment at MIT.
