DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
Recent activities of the group focus on the study of mesoporous nanocrystalline materials and on their energy and environmental applications. More specifically, the group constructs and studies third generation solar cells, such as sensitized solar cells and photo-fuel cells and in general deals with problems of solar energy conversion into electrical and chemical energy as well as environmental remediation by photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants. The group synthesizes and studies innovative materials and applies them in the construction of devices.
The laboratory is equipped for spectroscopic and electrochemical characterization of materials and for measurement of the efficiency of solar cells.
