I graduated from the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Patras in 2006 and successfully defended my PhD at the same department in 2013. My doctoral research focused on the study of multifunctional composite materials. I worked as a postdoctoral researcher through the State Scholarships Foundation to develop responsive biomimetic materials known as '4D-Materials.'

From 2018 to 2020, I was employed by Rolls-Royce (Aerospace & Defense sector) as a Materials Engineer, focusing on the design of advanced ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) and polymer matrix composites, as part of both the Global CMC Team and Team TEMPEST. Additionally, I have worked as an R&D engineer at ADVENT Technologies and the Institute of Chemical Engineering for the design and development of advanced fuel cell and hydrogen production systems. I am co-founder and have also been serving as a technical advisor for several years at PHEE PC, holding part of the intellectual property rights for the company's technologies.

Since 2022, I have been the scientific lead of the INTEGRAL research project at the Institute of Chemical Engineering. The project was funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation (ELIDEK) to develop materials that sense, adapt, and change their shapes based on external mechanical and thermal stimuli ('Active 4D-Materials'). Throughout my academic and professional career, I have thoroughly engaged in the development and study of composite and nano-composite materials for a wide range of properties, including mechanical, thermo-mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. I possess in-depth knowledge of composite material manufacturing processes and the correlation of their microstructure with their resulting physical properties. I have also been trained in all advanced composite material manufacturing methods at Cranfield University.

Finally, I have published 19 papers, mostly on composite materials, multifunctional & smart materials, and biomimetics, in renowned journals in materials science and engineering, as well as in physics journals. I have presented 27 conference papers, hold 3 patents, and have participated in 13 research projects, three of which I led as the scientific supervisor.
