Περίληψη

In the presentation, the structure of lithium-ion cells will be described. The causes of cell decomposition will be indicated. The stages of cell decomposition will be discussed. The products of cell decomposition formed at the beginning of decomposition will be indicated. Detectors commonly used by firefighters in Poland and used in current field studies to detect decomposition products will be described. A method of monitoring emergency conditions used by one company during storage of lithium-ion batteries based on a photoionization detector will also be presented.

Małgorzata Majder-Łopatka works in the Institute of Safety Engineering at the Fire University. She teaches chemical and ecological rescue and conducts research on the fire environment.
